t.b. OR NOT t.b.´s debut album features 13 acoustic Rorschach images, presented with the help of electronic sound generators and a multitude of acoustic instruments.
A predominantly dusky, haunting, surreal sound sets the mood of an album where darkly wafting synthesizer planes and drones carry along the multi-layered, romantic, dreamy poetry, circled by otherwordly melodies. Occasionally, an electric guitar will join a piece, even some almost danceable beats might occur now and then, and for the finale, cello, guitar and rebab plunge into a whirlpool of completely free and atonal improvisation before „Rorschach“ ends with the naive interpretation of an Irish traditional...
Just like with the psycho-diagnostic test of the same name, the listener will discover what he wants to hear and is able to hear in these acoustic inkblots, for the music is virtually mystical and minimal, electronic and organic, ambient and shrill, coldly abstract and highly romantic all at the same time – the overall impression of the first t.b. OR NOT t.b. album will be different from patient to patient!

t.b. OR NOT t.b. are probably what one could call an „artist couple“, two madcaps bent on adding artistic expression to the complex, multidimensional nature of their interpersonal relationship.
t. has been making music nobody wants to hear for decades (and produces it nevertheless), music ranging from the ironic Dada-punk of the pop group Superstolk to playful lounge pop (solo or with the pop project Laula) to the sound experiments of his ambient project Atmo Tapes 98 and the improvisations of drone/kraut/noise duo Materialeinschüchterung.
b. is a very busy artist as well and additionally involved in a variety of theatre projects. Together, t. and b. are (or are not) t.b. OR NOT t.b.

„Rorschach“ is their first joint album and – as you might probably have guessed – it won´t be their last. „Rorschach“ will be released at the end of May 2015 by unpop-media on CD-R and, in a strictly limited edition of 25 pieces, on audio cassette as well.
